What is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology is a complimentary holistic approach to ill-health, dis-ease, emotional and mental health issues, it is not to be replaced for western medical protocols. The practices and theory is a blend of Eastern and Western traditions and modalities. Balancing of the neuro-lymphatic and neuro-vascular reflexes which support Traditional Chinese Medicines and the Five Elements.
Kinesiology works on the basis that in order have total health, we must look at the person as a complete whole. Factors that affect the physical body will not only have an effect on other parts of the body but will have an effect upon the mind and emotions too. For example, chronic back pain could lead to a person feeling depressed and by the same token, excessive worry could contribute to the development of a stomach ulcer or digestive problems.
Via non-invasive techniques, such as tapping or massaging certain acupressure points or neuro-lymphatic points the blocked energy can be released and flow again. The ‘Chi’ flow in the body. Integrating the Chinese Five Elements Model. Occasionally I may suggest herbs, vitamins and certain exercises to do throughout the week to ensure the energy is kept flowing. This is all led by the wisdom of your body’s messages.
How Kinesiology can help you
Your body is giving its own sub conscious responses, working for you and with me to identify where the energy blocks, that are causing the stress and imbalances. A series of balances will clear the blocked energy, in order for your body and mind to restore itself and allow energy to flow unobstructed. Thus create the ‘Chi’ energy flow.
After a discussion on what has brought here and what are your symptoms be it physical and emotional. We will establish a goal or affirmation. There maybe a few, which is fine. We can muscle test to see which one is needing priority, your body will tell us this.
What happens in our body, spirit and mind when we say this goal to ourselves. Circuits, neuropaths in our brain shut down, thus creating a vicious circle and you still can’t seem to make the career change you desire. Furthermore, this manifests itself in other various symptoms, both physically and mentally and would certainly cause fatigue.
To enable you to reach this goal/affirmation, I will muscle test you. This is usually done by asking you to hold out your arm, if the arm remains firm or loose when I press (with two fingers) on your arm this will confirm whether it is locked or unlocked, there is a knack to this and through experience a therapist can identify the subtleties of the strength of the muscle and the energy. It is a non-evasive approach.
How will it Benefit Me
- It will identify the root of an issue, you could be feeling lethargic, perhaps a bit depressed but you are unsure of why. This will identify what is causing this on physiological level, with exploring the issue further if you so wish we can help lift the emotional feelings.
- Fantastic was to ensure your goals and dreams are achieved. And relieves the stress and anxiety.
- Identifies what you may be allergic too. What vitamin’s food may benefit you.
- Identifies weak muscles that can cause persistent pain. It can identify whether it is structural or muscles or blocked energy.
- It will highlight and identify any issue you may be experiencing.
- Children are very subsectable to Kinesiology, I have used this many times with children I know as it is simple and can clear blockages very quickly. A simple example of this is, ‘ I am confident in taking exams’, this as you can image throws up many blockages, stresses and imbalances in the body. Which can be cleared very simply and without too much discussion, which suits teenagers.
- It is a system that Chiropractors uses to establish where an issue is coming from. Such as which disc is ‘out’
How many Sessions.
I usually recommend a few sessions, however, sometimes one session is enough. It really depends on what the issue is. If it is a deep rooted issue such as long term pain, long standing anxiety then it will take more sessions to ensure you are t a point you are content with. I have many professional who have sessions regularly, to ensure that they at their optimum health.
I finally found a safe place to express how I really felt, without being judged. Sarah-Jayne was a compassionate and patient therapist. I suffered with depression and anxiety nearly all of my life. Having had a very difficult childhood, with years of abuse. I was hardly seen let alone heard. Sarah-Jayne brought qualities out in me that I could only see in others. I would always recommend therapy to someone is struggling and I will always recommend Sarah-Jayne.
Having lost nearly everything due to my pure lack of any thought to anyone else. Things could not get any worse. I had three years of go to Gambling Anononamous and free counselling. Through psychotherapy I could look at my issues from a deeper perspective. Sarah-Jayne was able to help me see the deeper meaning to my senseless past and to find real purpose. I now volunteer at gamblers anonymous and mentor people who are building their own business. I am forever grateful for her passion to empower people and to enable to look at my life creatively. She was reliable, trustworthy and persistent when I wanted to avoid.
I finally found the courage to tell my family about the abuse I suffered as a child. From this day on I took control of my life and dealt the trauma of my past. I am in long term therapy with Sarah-Jayne and although people might say it is a crutch, I disagree. I have learnt so much about myself, I have learnt that self-awareness, is empowering and is the key to be truly happy.
Sarah-Jayne was a constant in my life when everything else was so chaotic. She was there when I couldn’t see through the constant for barrage of problems. Initially I was able to talk about the Chaos which was drowning me. I was able learn CBT skills to relieve my symptoms of anxiety. I had never mediated before but when in sessions we did this I was able to relax and realise that there was a safe, peaceful space within me that I never thought possible. I now meditate and go to the safe place to enable to detach myself appropriately to issues around me.
